Children's pencil paper
- Written by Kishanrao Kulkarni
Bellagurki, a small village in Sindhanur Taluk of Raichur
district, has no newspapers. Do not assume that no one is reading it. People
are waiting for a pencil to come in every two months, even if the newspapers do
not exceed a hundred.
As the name of the magazine is now known as Khelilwalla ...
Editorial ... There may be questions in your mind.
The newspaper, which started five years ago, is the only
elementary school student in the village - editors, owners, distributors ...
all of them !!
What caused the school newspaper to come out?:
There is a government primary school in the village, which
is far from developed, where children who have can’t come to school, they
have to follow their parents. And goes to field.
At this time, the newly recruited teachers, Kotresha.B
decided to change the image of the school and the village.
Meeting the village elders, educating them on their way
home, half the children in the yard were leading the school.
Gradually, as the children were learning to read and write,
the school began to published pencil paper.
In the four-pages. people began to feel the language of the
countryside.
As the story, poetry, painting, school activities, sports,
school and village issues became more and more illuminated, the culture,
lifestyle and issues of the village increased as the number of children in the
school increased.
Some of the facilities were torn to school.
“In our Belugurkki village where we do not see the day
papers, pencils are reaching the house, people read at their leisure and
observe all the activities of our school. That's why these children are now
being sent to various parts of the state by post.
The newspaper has been publishing for 5 years:
from 5 years has been working on how to write children's
writing and how to play an effective role in the magazine leading person
Kotresha.b.
The school's ‘India Foundation for the Arts’ project is an
art-inclusive experiment with the guidance of Krishnamurthy and Radhika
Bharadwaja, the program's organizers. Caused to change.
Teachers were initially paying for this newspaper, which was
going to everyone's home, but now the villagers are coming to school contribute
newspaper expenditure.
Parents are now participating in the school program, as all
the events in schools after the publication of pencil paper are being read
through the newspaper.
Children Editors and Author:
Children are editors-collaborators for the newspaper.
Companion Board members discuss what matters should be prioritized for the
current issue. Instruct the columnist to submit the column within a day,
deciding which pages are appropriate for the magazine. In the meantime they
also discuss the loopholes, village deficiencies, and remedies in the previous
issue of the magazine.
The ‘Nammoor-Namavaru’ pride column in Pencil magazine has
attracted the community and raised concerns about children's learning in the
village. The pros in the village have their specialties: go to their home and
interview them and publish them in the paper and introduce the local pros to the
outside world. This program provides a guarantee for the children of the
village to learn about the children
Newspaper School Development:
As the children of the editorial board of the newspaper are
constantly writing to get the necessary facilities for the school, the village
panchayat has sanctioned a school compound, essential infrastructure, drinking
water, high-tech toiletries, a sports room and four new classes. Pencil
Newspaper has taught children to read, write, teach villagers and public representatives.
